How to Use the CISA 22010 Padlock
Locking
- Check the fit – your hasp, staple or chain link must fit within the 25 × 27mm clearance and accept an 8mm shackle.
- Open the lock – insert the key fully and turn clockwise until the shackle springs open.
- Position the shackle – pass the free leg through the hasp staple or chain links.
- Close firmly – push the shackle down until it clicks. No key is needed to lock.
- Test it – pull the body and shackle to confirm it is locked.
Unlocking
- Insert the key fully into the keyway.
- Turn clockwise – the shackle pops up.
- Lift the shackle out of the hasp.
- Return the key to neutral and remove it.
Installation Tips
- Use a hardened hasp and staple – a lock is only as strong as what it's fixed to.
- Hang the padlock with the keyway facing down to keep out rain and dust.
- Keep one spare key away from the premises.

Maintenance
Care & Precautions
Do
- Lubricate the keyway every 3–6 months with graphite powder or dry PTFE spray.
- Wipe the brass body with a dry cloth.
- In dusty or muddy sites, flush the keyway with a little lubricant and work the key a few times.
- Cut duplicate keys from an original CISA key.
Don't
- Don't put oil or grease in the keyway – it attracts dust and jams the pins.
- Don't clean with acids or bleach.
- Don't force a bent or damaged key – replace it.
- Not for high-security uses such as cash stores – ask us for heavy-duty options.
