How to use the CISA 22010 50mm padlock
- Check the fitMake sure your hasp, staple or chain link opening is larger than the 8mm shackle and fits within the ~27mm clearance.
- Open the lockInsert the CISA key fully into the keyway and turn it clockwise – the shackle springs open.
- Remove the keyTurn the key back to its start position and pull it out. Keep one key on you and store the spares safely.
- Fit the padlockPass the open shackle through the hasp staple, chain or gate latch.
- Lock itPress the shackle firmly down into the body until it clicks. No key needed to lock.
- Test itPull the body and shackle firmly to confirm it is securely locked.
- Outdoors tipHang the lock with the keyhole facing down so rainwater and dust do not collect inside the cylinder.
Care & maintenance
- Spray a little dry graphite lubricant or light machine oil into the keyway every 2–3 months, especially after the rainy season.
- Wipe dust and mud off the shackle and body; do not use harsh acids on the brass.
- Never force a stiff key – lubricate first. Forcing can snap the key inside the cylinder.
- Use only original CISA keys. Poor-quality duplicates wear the pins and cause jamming.
- Pair the padlock with a strong, hardened hasp – a lock is only as strong as the hasp it secures.
- Record your key number and keep a spare key in a safe place away from the lock.

Yes. The solid brass body does not rust. Hang it keyhole-down and lubricate the cylinder periodically for the best life outdoors.
What is the difference between the 40mm and 50mm CISA padlock?
The 50mm has a larger body and a thicker (approx. 8mm) hardened shackle, giving more resistance to cutting. The 40mm is better for smaller hasps, lockers and cabinets.
Can several padlocks open with one key?
