Deli DC090 450W Electric Paint Spray Gun – 800ml HVLP Paint Sprayer

Paint walls, ceilings, gates, fences, furniture and wood up to several times faster than a brush or roller. The Deli DC090 is a 450W electric paint spray gun with an 800ml quick-release container, adjustable flow and three spray patterns, giving a smooth, even, professional finish for homeowners, painters and fundis across Nairobi and Kenya.

  • 450W Motor
  • 800ml Container
  • Up to 700ml/min
  • 3 Spray Patterns
  • Adjustable Flow

Product Overview

The Deli DC090 electric paint spray gun uses HVLP (high volume, low pressure) turbine technology: a 450W motor drives a high volume of air at low pressure that atomises paint into a fine, controlled mist. Because the air pressure is low, there is less overspray and less paint wasted than with a compressor-driven gun, and you do not need a separate air compressor or hose. Just plug it into a standard 240V Kenyan socket, fill the cup and spray.

With an 800ml detachable paint container, a maximum output of 700ml per minute and a choice of vertical, horizontal and round spray patterns, the DC090 handles everything from a full bedroom wall in emulsion to fine varnish work on doors, cabinets and furniture. It is a practical electric paint sprayer for DIY home renovation, painting contractors, carpenters, cabinet makers and maintenance teams.

Shabbiri Hardware is an authorised Crown Paints distributor, so you can pick up the spray gun together with your emulsion, primer, varnish, thinner and masking materials at our Ongata Rongai and Tuala branches on Magadi Road.

Paint Thinning Guide

Correct thinning is the secret to a smooth finish with any electric spray gun. Use the viscosity cup supplied in the box: dip it into the paint, lift it out and time how long the paint takes to drain. The guide below is a starting point; always follow the paint manufacturer's label.

Paint TypeThin With
Emulsion / VinylClean water, approx. 10–20%
Acrylic PrimerClean water, approx. 10–15%
Gloss / EnamelPaint thinner (white spirit), approx. 10–15%
Varnish / LacquerRecommended thinner, approx. 5–10%
Wood Stain / PreservativeUsually ready to spray, no thinning
Pro tip: Add thinner a little at a time and stir well. Over-thinned paint runs and gives poor coverage; under-thinned paint spits and blocks the nozzle.

How to Use the Deli DC090 Spray Gun – Step by Step

  1. Prepare the surface. Clean off dust, grease and loose paint. Fill cracks, sand smooth and let the surface dry fully.
  2. Mask and cover. Use masking tape, paper and drop sheets or hessian cloth to protect floors, windows, sockets, fittings and furniture from overspray.
  3. Protect yourself. Wear a paint mask or respirator, safety goggles, gloves and old clothing. Keep the room well ventilated.
  4. Mix and thin the paint. Stir thoroughly, thin according to the guide above and check with the viscosity cup. Strain the paint through a mesh or cloth to remove lumps.
  5. Fill the container. Unplug the gun, twist off the 800ml container, fill to no more than about 80% and refit it firmly so the seal is tight.
  6. Select the spray pattern. Turn the nozzle cap: vertical fan for side-to-side strokes, horizontal fan for up-and-down strokes, round pattern for corners, edges and small items.
  7. Set the flow. Start with a low to medium flow setting. Increase for large walls; reduce for varnish and fine detail.
  8. Test spray first. Plug in, switch on and test on cardboard or scrap board. Adjust thinning and flow until you get an even, fine mist without spitting or runs.
  9. Spray with even strokes. Hold the nozzle 20–30cm from the surface and keep it parallel to it. Move your whole arm at a steady pace, start moving before you pull the trigger and release it at the end of each pass. Overlap each pass by about one third.
  10. Apply thin coats. Two or three thin coats give a better finish than one thick coat. Allow each coat to dry as per the paint label before re-coating.
  11. Refill safely. Always switch off and unplug before opening the container. Wipe the container threads so the next coat seals properly.
  12. Clean immediately after use. See the cleaning guide below. Dried paint is the number one cause of spray gun blockage.
Safety: Never point the spray gun at people or animals. Do not spray near open flames, cookers or sparks. Keep the motor and switch away from water, and never immerse the gun body in liquid.

Cleaning & Maintenance

1. Empty

Switch off, unplug and pour leftover paint back into its tin.

2. Flush

Fill the container with clean water (or thinner for oil-based paint) and spray until it runs clear.

3. Dismantle

Remove the nozzle cap, nozzle, suction tube and container. Wash each part and clear the nozzle hole with a soft brush.

4. Dry & Store

Dry all parts, reassemble and store in a clean, dry place with the cable loosely coiled.

5. Filter Check

Inspect the air filter regularly and clean or replace it when dirty to protect the motor.

6. Lubricate Seals

A little light machine oil on the container seal and threads keeps them sealing well.

Quick Troubleshooting

ProblemSolution
Paint spits or sputtersPaint too thick or nozzle partly blocked. Thin further and clean the nozzle.
Runs and drips on the wallToo much paint or moving too slowly. Lower the flow, move faster, spray thinner coats.
No paint coming outCheck the suction tube is attached, the container is sealed tight and the nozzle is clear.
Rough, sandy finishHolding the gun too far away or paint drying in the air. Move closer (20–30cm) and thin slightly.
Uneven or striped coverageOverlap each pass by one third and keep the gun parallel to the surface.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can the Deli DC090 spray gun spray emulsion wall paint?

Yes. Thin water-based emulsion with about 10–20% clean water until it passes the viscosity cup test, then spray using the vertical or horizontal fan pattern.

Do I need an air compressor with this spray gun?

No. The DC090 is a self-contained electric HVLP sprayer with its own 450W turbine. Plug it into a normal 240V socket and spray.

How much area can I paint with one 800ml container?

It depends on the paint and surface, but a full container typically covers several square metres per coat. Refilling takes seconds thanks to the quick-release cup.

Can I use it for car painting?

It can be used for small metal parts and touch-ups, but for full automotive refinishing a professional compressor-driven HVLP gun gives a finer finish.

Can I spray oil-based gloss paint?

Yes, thin it with the correct thinner (white spirit) and clean the gun with thinner afterwards, not water.

Is this spray gun good for furniture and cabinets?

Yes. Use the round or fan pattern on a low flow setting for varnish, lacquer and wood stain on doors, cabinets, tables and chairs.
