⚡ Key Specifications at a Glance

1. Inspect the tool. Check the cable and plug for cuts or exposed conductors. Press the lower guard open and release it — it must snap fully closed on its own. If it hangs open, do not use the saw.

2. Check the blade. It must be sharp, flat and free of cracked or missing carbide teeth. Confirm the arrow on the blade points the same way as the arrow on the guard.

3. Support the workpiece. Lay the board across two trestles, good face down, and clamp it. Never balance a board on your knee or hold it by hand.

4. Set the cutting depth. Unplug first. Set the blade so it projects about 3–5 mm below the underside of the material, then lock the lever. Shallower = safer, cleaner, less kickback.

5. Set the bevel angle. Leave at 0° for square cuts. For mitres, loosen the bevel knob, tilt to the scale reading (up to 45°) and re-tighten. Maximum depth drops to 42 mm at 45°.

6. Fit the rip guide (optional). Slide the guide ruler into the front of the shoe, set your distance from the blade, tighten the wing screw and run the fence tight against the board edge.

7. Put on PPE. Safety glasses, dust mask and ear protection. Roll up loose sleeves, remove snag-prone gloves, tie back long hair.

1. Mark the line and align the sight notch in the shoe with your pencil mark, blade on the waste side of the line.

2. Rest the front of the shoe on the board with the blade clear of the timber — never start the saw with the blade touching the work.

3. Grip with both hands: main handle in your dominant hand, front knob in the other. Stand slightly to the side of the cut line, never directly behind the saw.

4. Release the lock-off, squeeze the trigger and let the motor reach full 5300 rpm — about one second — before advancing.

5. Feed steadily and straight. Let the blade do the work. Forcing it slows the motor, burns the timber and invites kickback — if the motor note drops sharply, ease off.

6. Keep the shoe flat through the whole cut and never twist the saw sideways to correct a wandering line — stop, back out and restart.

7. Finish the cut fully, let the offcut fall free, then release the trigger. Hold the saw until the blade stops and the guard closes before setting it down.

8. Plunge cuts (experienced users only): set the depth, retract the lower guard by its lever, rest the front edge of the shoe on the board, start the motor, lower the blade slowly in, then advance forward only.

1. Unplug the saw. Never change a blade with the plug in the socket.

2. Press and hold the spindle lock, then loosen the arbor bolt with the supplied spanner (turn in the marked direction — usually opposite to blade rotation).

3. Remove the bolt and outer flange, retract the lower guard and lift out the old blade.

4. Fit the new 185 × 20mm blade with the teeth and printed arrow pointing forward at the front of the shoe, seated squarely on the inner flange.

5. Refit the flange and bolt, hold the spindle lock and tighten firmly. Spin the blade by hand to confirm it runs true and the guard closes freely, then test-run briefly off the work.

✅ Pro Tips for Cleaner Cuts

• Cut with the good face down — the blade exits through the top, so any chipping stays on the hidden side.
• Clamp a straight batten or spirit level to the board as a guide rail for long, dead-straight rips on sheet material.
• Use a 40T–60T fine blade for melamine, veneer, laminate and SPC flooring; keep the 24T blade for fast ripping of solid timber.
• Score the cut line with a knife before cutting veneered board to eliminate surface tear-out.
• Support both sides of a cut in wide sheets so the offcut cannot sag and pinch the blade.

• Never disable, wedge or tie back the lower blade guard. It must return automatically every time.
• Always unplug before changing blades, adjusting flanges or clearing jammed offcuts.
• Beware kickback: it happens when the blade pinches or binds. Stand to the side of the cut line, keep the shoe flat, support the work properly and never reach under a spinning blade.
• Never hold the workpiece in your hand or across your legs — clamp it to a stable bench or trestles.
• Check for hidden nails, screws and cables in reclaimed timber before cutting.
• Do not use a cracked, warped or blunt blade, and never fit a blade larger than 185mm or with the wrong bore.
• Use a properly rated extension cable fully unrolled; on sites with unstable supply, run the saw through an RCD/ELCB socket.
• Keep the cord behind you and clear of the blade path at all times.
• Do not operate in rain or damp conditions, and never cut asbestos-containing materials.
• Let the blade stop completely before setting the saw down, and unplug when leaving it unattended.

What size blade does the Deli DL-YJ185-E1 use?

185mm (7-1/4 inch) diameter with a 20mm bore. A 24-tooth TCT wood blade is supplied in the box, and replacement 185 × 20mm blades in 24T, 40T and 60T are available at both branches.

How thick a piece of timber can it cut?

Up to 61mm deep at 90° and up to 42mm at 45°. That covers 2×4 and 2×6 timber in a single pass and most sheet materials easily.

Can it cut marble sheets, tiles or stone?

Yes — fit a 185mm continuous-rim diamond blade rated for at least 5300 rpm, set a shallow depth and feed slowly. Do not use an abrasive masonry disc that is not rated for this speed, and always wear eye and respiratory protection.

Will it run on Kenyan mains power?

Yes. It is rated 220–240V, 50/60Hz, matching Kenya Power's supply. On sites with long cable runs use a heavy-duty fully unrolled extension and ideally an RCD-protected socket.

Is it suitable for daily professional use?

Yes. The 1300W heat-resistant motor and cast aluminium guard are built for repeated site work. Keep the vents clean, use sharp blades and avoid forcing the cut and it will give long service.

Does it come with a warranty?

Deli power tools carry the manufacturer's standard warranty against manufacturing defects. Keep your receipt and the box. Warranty does not cover blades, damage from forcing the tool, water ingress or use on the wrong voltage.
