How to Measure for the Right Cylinder
A cylinder that is too long sticks out and can be snapped; one that is too short will not reach the cam. Measure before you buy:
- Open the door and find the fixing screw on the door edge, in line with the keyhole, just below the latch.
- Measure from the centre of the fixing screw to the outside end of the cylinder (outer side, e.g. 30 mm or 35 mm).
- Measure from the centre of the fixing screw to the inside end (inner side). Write both numbers down, e.g. 35/35.
- Add the two figures to get the total length. Ideally the cylinder should sit no more than 3 mm proud of the door handle plate.

How to Install / Replace the Kenyos LBE-07K
Tools needed: a Phillips screwdriver and your current key (if available).
- Open the door fully and wedge it so it can't close while you work.
- Remove the fixing screw from the edge of the door (the long screw in line with the keyhole). Keep it safe.
- Insert the old key and turn it about 10–15° left or right until the cam lines up inside the cylinder body.
- Pull the old cylinder out using the key as a handle. Do not force it. If it sticks, turn the key slightly until it slides free.
- Prepare the new Kenyos LBE-07K: insert a new key and turn slightly so the cam sits flush with the body.
- Slide the new cylinder in from the outside of the door, making sure the fixing-screw hole lines up with the hole on the door edge.
- Refit and tighten the fixing screw firmly, but do not over-tighten or the cam may bind.
- Test with the door open: lock and unlock from both sides several times, then test with the door closed.
How to Use & Maintain Your Cylinder Lock
Insert the key fully
Push the key all the way in before turning. A half-inserted key can bend pins and wear the mechanism.
Turn gently
If the key is stiff, don't force it. Lift or push the door slightly to take pressure off the bolt, then turn.
Lubricate twice a year
Use graphite powder or a PTFE dry lock lubricant. Avoid oil or grease, which collect dust and jam the pins.
Keep keys in good shape
Don't use a bent or cracked key. Cut duplicates from the original key, not from a copy.
Clean the face
Wipe the cylinder face with a dry cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners on the brass finish.
Re-key when needed
Change the cylinder when you move house, lose a key or change staff, for fast and cheap peace of mind.
