KENYOS DAJ-06L Euro Profile Door Cylinder Lock with Keys
A dependable replacement cylinder for mortise door locks. The KENYOS DAJ-06L cylinder lock uses a precision pin-tumbler mechanism in a solid metal body, fits standard euro profile lock cases, and comes with a set of keys. Available now at Shabbiri Hardware on Magadi Road, Ongata Rongai and Tuala.
Product Overview
The cylinder is the part of a door lock that actually decides who gets in. If a key is lost, a tenant moves out, or the old barrel has become stiff and worn, you don't need to replace the whole lock. Swap in a new KENYOS DAJ-06L door cylinder and your existing lock case, handles and strike plate keep working with a fresh set of keys.
KENYOS is a trusted locks and building-hardware brand in East Africa. The DAJ-06L is built for everyday residential and commercial doors: front and back doors, bedroom and office doors, shop fronts, and steel security doors fitted with a euro profile mortise lock.
Pin-tumbler security
Spring-loaded pin stacks let only the matching key cut turn the plug, so the lock resists casual picking and forcing.
Solid metal body
A die-cast body with a brass plug and keys gives a smooth, consistent turn and resists corrosion in Nairobi's humid seasons.
Universal euro profile
The standard euro profile fits most modern mortise lock cases found on Kenyan wooden, steel and aluminium doors.
Quick replacement
A single fixing screw holds it in place. Most people can change a cylinder in under ten minutes with one screwdriver.

Door thickness varies, so cylinder length matters. Bring your old cylinder or its measurements to either branch and our team will confirm the DAJ-06L is the right fit before you buy.
How to Measure Your Cylinder
- Remove the old cylinder (see steps below) or measure it while fitted in the door.
- Find the fixing-screw hole in the middle of the cylinder body, just below the cam.
- Measure from the centre of that hole to the outside face (A), then from the centre to the inside face (B), in millimetres.
- Add A + B for the total length. The new cylinder should sit flush or no more than 2–3 mm proud of the door handle plate. A cylinder that sticks out far is easier to snap.
How to Install the KENYOS DAJ-06L Cylinder Lock
You'll need: a Phillips screwdriver, the new cylinder with its keys, and a few drops of graphite or silicone lock lubricant (optional).
- Open the door and keep it open so you can't get locked out while working.
- Undo the long fixing screw on the door edge, in line with the keyhole, below the latch.
- Insert the old key and turn it about 10–15° left or right until the cam lines up with the cylinder body.
- Pull the old cylinder out by gripping the key. Wiggle the key gently to find the point where the cam clears.
- Insert a new DAJ-06L key and align its cam with the body the same way.
- Slide the new cylinder into the lock case from the outside until the screw hole lines up with the hole on the door edge.
- Refit the fixing screw and tighten it firmly, but not so tight that the cylinder binds.
- Test every key from both sides with the door open, then with it closed, checking the latch and deadbolt throw fully.
Usage, Care & Safety Tips
Do
- Lubricate the keyway every 6–12 months with graphite powder or a dry silicone spray.
- Store spare keys in a safe place and keep a record of who holds each key.
- Change the cylinder when you move house, lose a key or a tenant leaves.
- Wipe dust from the face of outdoor cylinders regularly.
Don't
- Use cooking oil or grease. They collect dust and jam the pins.
- Force a stiff key. Clean and lubricate the lock instead.
- Leave the cylinder protruding far past the handle plate.
- Use the key as a handle to pull the door shut.

Will the KENYOS DAJ-06L fit my existing door lock?
It fits mortise locks cut for a standard euro profile cylinder. Measure your old cylinder from the centre of the fixing screw hole to each face and match the length before buying. Our staff can check it for you in store.
Can I replace a cylinder lock myself?
