Kenyos LCE-06K Euro Profile Door Cylinder Lock with 5 Keys
A dependable replacement lock cylinder (door lock barrel) for mortise door locks in homes, apartments, offices, shops and gates. Change the cylinder in minutes and take back control of who holds a key — available now at Shabbiri Hardware, Magadi Road, Ongata Rongai and Tuala, Nairobi.
Product Overview – Kenyos Cylinder Lock LCE-06K
The Kenyos LCE-06K cylinder lock is a euro profile, double-sided key cylinder — the removable "barrel" part of a mortise door lock that the key actually turns in. When keys are lost, a house help or tenant moves out, or the old barrel becomes stiff and worn, you do not need to replace the whole lock. Simply swap in a new door lock cylinder and every old key stops working.
Kenyos is a well-known hardware and tools brand in Kenya, and this cylinder is built for everyday residential and light-commercial use. It comes with 5 keys, so there is one for every member of the household plus spares. It suits wooden, steel and aluminium doors fitted with a euro-profile mortise lock, including main doors, bedroom doors, office doors, shop doors and gate locks.
Looking for a cylinder lock in Kenya you can collect today? Shabbiri Hardware has served Nairobi builders, fundis and homeowners since 1990 from our two branches on Magadi Road — Ongata Rongai (opposite Hashi Petrol Station) and Tuala (past Nazarene University).

How to Measure Your Old Cylinder (Before You Buy)
The most common mistake when buying a replacement lock cylinder is getting the wrong length. A cylinder that is too long sticks out and can be snapped; one that is too short will not reach the key. Measure like this:
Ideally the new cylinder should stand no more than about 3 mm proud of the door handle plate on the outside. If you are unsure, remove the old cylinder (steps below) and bring it to us.
How to Install the Kenyos LCE-06K Cylinder Lock
You will need: a Phillips or flat screwdriver, the old key (if available) and the new Kenyos cylinder with its keys.
- Open the door. Work with the door open so you cannot lock yourself out.
- Find the fixing screw. On the edge of the door, on the lock faceplate, locate the long screw directly in line with the cylinder.
- Remove the screw. Unscrew it completely and keep it — you may re-use it if the new one is not needed.
- Align the cam. Insert the old key and turn it about 10–15° either way until the cam lines up with the cylinder body.
- Pull out the old cylinder. Holding the key in that position, gently pull the cylinder out of the lock.
- Prepare the new cylinder. Insert a Kenyos key and turn slightly so the cam sits flush inside the profile.
- Slide it in. Push the new cylinder into the lock from the outside, with the fixing hole lined up with the screw hole on the door edge.
- Refit the screw. Tighten the fixing screw firmly — but do not over-tighten, or the cam may bind.
- Test before closing. With the door still open, lock and unlock from both sides with each of the 5 keys. Then close the door and test again.
How to Use & Look After Your Cylinder Lock
Daily use
- Insert the key fully until it stops.
- Turn smoothly in the locking direction until the bolt throws — usually one full turn.
- Turn back to the upright position and remove the key.
- To unlock, reverse the direction. Never force a key that will not turn.
Maintenance
- Every 3–4 months, puff graphite powder or a dry PTFE lock spray into the keyway.
- Insert and turn the key a few times to spread the lubricant.
- Wipe the cylinder face with a dry cloth — avoid harsh cleaners on the finish.
- Check the fixing screw is still tight once a year.
Do ✔
- Keep 1–2 spare keys in a safe place away from the door.
- Replace the cylinder when you move into a new house or after a tenant leaves.
- Ask a key cutter to copy from the original key, not from a copy.
- Match the cylinder length to your door and handle plates.
Don't ✖
- Don't use cooking oil, grease or engine oil — they collect dust and jam the pins.
- Don't use the key as a handle to pull the door.
- Don't force a bent or worn key; get a new copy made.
- Don't leave a key in the inside of a glass-panelled door.
