Mapei Mapenet 150 Alkali-Resistant Fibreglass Mesh — 150 g/m² (50m x 1m Roll)

Mapei Mapenet 150 is a professional alkali-resistant glass-fibre reinforcing mesh that embeds into plaster, skim coats, waterproofing membranes and external wall insulation systems. It acts as a hidden “skeleton” that holds the coating together, spreads stress and dramatically reduces cracking — for a stronger, longer-lasting finish inside and out.

Its special alkali-resistant primer lets the mesh keep its strength inside cement and mortar, where ordinary fibreglass would break down. The easy-to-handle 4 × 4.5 mm weave and bright blue colour make it simple to cut, position and check coverage on site.

🔧 How To Install

1. Prepare — clean, sound, dust-free substrate; dampen if required.
2. Apply the base layer — trowel an even coat of your Mapei product.
3. Embed the mesh — press Mapenet 150 into the fresh coat with a flat trowel so it is fully embedded, not on top.
4. Overlap joints by at least 5 cm (50 mm); wrap around corners.
5. Apply the second layer to fully cover the mesh (sandwiched in the middle).
6. Finish & cure per the specific product's data sheet before tiling or painting.

💡 Tip: Keep the mesh centred within the coating thickness and never leave it exposed — it must be fully covered for maximum strength.
