How to Install Mapetex Sel N
Embedding the fabric correctly is what makes the reinforcement work.
Prepare the Substrate
Ensure it is sound, clean and free of dust, grease and loose material. Cementitious surfaces should be damp with no standing water. Repair cracks first.
Apply the First Coat
Spread a uniform 1–2 mm layer of your flexible waterproofing product (e.g. Mapelastic Turbo / Smart) with a trowel.
Embed the Fabric
While the first coat is fresh, lay Mapetex Sel N into it and press until fully embedded, with no air pockets. Overlap adjacent strips by at least 5 cm at all joints.
Apply the Second Coat
Once the first layer is walkable, apply a second 1–2 mm coat, fully covering the fabric.
Cure
Allow the membrane to cure per the product data sheet before tiling or filling a pool.
