How to Use the RILAND MMA 220-JT

1. Set up safely: Place the welder on a dry, well-ventilated surface. Wear your welding mask, gloves and protective clothing, and keep flammable materials away.
2. Connect the cables: Fit the electrode holder and earth clamp to the + / – terminals. For E6013 rods, earth on + and electrode on –; for E7018 rods use electrode on +. Clamp the earth firmly to clean bare metal.
3. Load & set the current: Insert the electrode, power on (220–240V) and dial the amps — 2.5mm → ~70–110A, 3.2mm → ~110–150A, 4.0mm → ~150–200A.
4. Strike & weld: Scratch or tap to strike the arc, then hold a 2–3mm arc at a 10–20° drag angle and move steadily along the joint.
5. Finish & clean: Switch off, let the weld cool, chip off the slag and clean the bead with the steel brush. Respect the duty cycle when using heavy 4.0mm rods.
