Key Features

4-Block Oil-Free System

Four independent motor heads share the load, so each one runs cooler, quieter and longer than a single large pump. If one head ever needs service, the others keep running.

💧Truly Oil-Free Air

No oil in the crankcase, no oil in your air line, no oil-water separator to buy. Safe for spray painting, dental, medical, laboratory, food-grade and electronics work.

🔈Ultra-Low Noise

Low-RPM direct-drive operation makes this one of the quietest 200L compressors on the Kenyan market. Run it inside a showroom, salon, clinic or residential estate without complaints.

📦200-Litre Horizontal Receiver

Large air reserve means fewer cut-ins, steadier working pressure and a much lower duty cycle.

💨424 L/min @ 8 Bar

Roughly 15 CFM — enough to feed a full HVLP spray gun continuously or run several impact tools at once.

100% Copper Winding Motors

Better heat dissipation and longer motor life than aluminium-wound alternatives — which matters on Kenya's fluctuating mains voltage.

🛠Zero Routine Servicing

No oil to check, top up or change. Drain the condensate, clean the filters — that is it.

Fast Recovery

Four heads refill the tank in a fraction of the time a single-cylinder unit takes.

🔌Auto Start/Stop Pressure Switch

Cuts out at max pressure, cuts back in automatically as you draw air. Includes safety relief valve and thermal overload protection.

🚚Mobile Design

Solid rubber wheels and a top lifting handle for single-person repositioning around the workshop.

🎖Twin Air Outlets with Regulator

Tank gauge and line gauge, with adjustable working pressure for tools that need different settings.

How to Use the BTALI BT200 OFAC Air Compressor

🔧 Before the first start-up

  1. Let it settle. After transport, stand the compressor upright on a flat, level surface for at least 30 minutes before switching on.
  2. Give it air. Leave at least 500 mm of clearance around all four motor blocks. These are air-cooled — blocking the fans is the fastest way to kill them.
  3. Check the drain valve. Confirm the tank drain cock underneath is fully closed.
  4. Check your power. Use a dedicated 220–240 V socket on a 16 A circuit with a proper earth. Do not run this compressor on a light-duty extension reel — voltage drop across a thin cable will overheat the motors. If you must extend, use heavy-gauge cable and keep it as short as possible.
  5. Confirm the outlets are closed before you power up.

▶ Starting the compressor

  1. Turn the pressure regulator knob fully anti-clockwise (pressure at zero).
  2. Pull the pressure switch knob to the ON position. All four motor blocks will start and begin filling the tank.
  3. Watch the tank gauge climb. The compressor will run until it reaches the cut-out pressure (8 bar), then stop automatically.
  4. Connect your air hose to a quick-couple outlet.
  5. Turn the regulator knob clockwise to set the working pressure your tool actually needs — check the tool's plate. Spray guns typically want 2–4 bar; impact wrenches 6–8 bar. Over-pressurising a tool wastes air and wears it out.
  6. Work normally. As tank pressure drops to the cut-in point, the motors restart automatically. This is normal.

⚠ While it is running

  • Never exceed the maximum rated pressure or tamper with the safety relief valve — it is the only thing standing between a pressurised 200-litre vessel and a very bad day.
  • Keep the unit on level ground, never on its side.
  • Let it rest if it has been running continuously for a long session. Four heads share the load well, but they are still air-cooled.
  • Do not point an air gun at any person, and never use compressed air to clean clothing or skin.

🔒 Shutting down (do this every single day)

  1. Switch the pressure switch to OFF and unplug from the mains.
  2. Bleed the line — release air through your gun or the regulator until the line gauge reads zero.
  3. Open the tank drain valve at the underside and let the condensate out.
  4. Close the drain, coil the hose, and cover the unit if the workshop is dusty.
💧 Why draining matters Nairobi and Rongai humidity puts water into that tank every day it runs. Water sitting in a steel receiver overnight is what rusts tanks from the inside and eventually causes failures. This 30-second habit adds years to the machine.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does an oil-free air compressor work?
Instead of an oil bath lubricating the cylinder, an oil-free compressor uses pistons fitted with self-lubricating PTFE-composite rings and permanently sealed bearings. The piston seals against the cylinder wall without any liquid lubricant, so the air that comes out of the tank has never touched oil.
Are oil-free air compressors any good, or are they just cheaper?
For anything under about 10 HP in a workshop, retail or clinical setting, oil-free is generally the better engineering choice. You lose nothing in air delivery, and you gain clean air, silent running and zero servicing. Oil-lubricated units still win on very large industrial continuous-duty applications, but that is not what a 200L, 4HP unit is for.
Which is better — oil or oil-free air compressor?
It depends entirely on what you are doing. If you spray paint, run dental or medical air, work with food or electronics, or need to run indoors, oil-free is the only sensible answer. If you are running a heavy industrial line 20 hours a day at high pressure, an oil-flooded screw compressor is the right tool. For 95% of Kenyan workshops, garages and car washes, the BT200 OFAC is the better buy.
Do oil-free air compressors require less maintenance?
Yes — dramatically less. There is no oil to check, no oil to change, no oil filter to buy and no belt to tension. Your entire maintenance routine is: drain the tank daily, clean the air filters weekly, test the safety valve monthly.
Are oil-free air compressors quieter?
The BT200 OFAC is, because of how it is built. It runs four low-RPM direct-drive heads instead of one high-RPM pump, and low RPM is what produces low noise. It is quiet enough to run in a showroom, salon or dental surgery — situations where a belt-driven unit would be impossible.
How long do oil-free air compressors last?
With daily condensate draining and clean filters, expect many years of service. The 4-block layout helps here: each head does a quarter of the work, so each one runs cooler and wears more slowly than a single pump would. Tank life is usually determined by internal corrosion — which is entirely down to whether you drain it daily.
Is 424 L/min enough for spray painting a car?
Yes. 424 L/min is roughly 15 CFM. A full-size HVLP spray gun typically draws 8–12 CFM at 2–4 bar, so the BT200 OFAC feeds one continuously with headroom, backed by a 200-litre reserve so pressure does not sag mid-panel.
Can I run more than one air tool at the same time?
Yes, within reason. 424 L/min supports several intermittent-use tools — air ratchets, blow guns, tyre inflators — running together. For two continuous high-draw tools simultaneously, check each tool's CFM rating and add them up first.
Does it need three-phase power?
No. It runs on standard single-phase 220–240 V mains. Use a dedicated, properly earthed socket — not a light-duty extension reel.
What size compressor do I need for a car wash in Kenya?
For blow-drying, foam application and interior cleaning at a single- or double-bay wash, a 200-litre oil-free unit at 424 L/min is the right size — the large tank handles the burst demand of blow-down work, and oil-free air will not leave residue on a freshly cleaned car.
Why do I have to drain the tank every day?
Compressing air condenses the moisture in it into liquid water, which collects at the bottom of the tank. In Rongai and Nairobi humidity this happens fast. Water left in a steel tank rusts it from the inside out, and rust in your air line ruins paintwork and tools. Draining takes 30 seconds.
What is the air compressor price in Kenya for this model?
