Sika MonoTop®-620 is a premium polymer modified surfacing/finishing structural repair mortar, ready to mix — just add water. Manufactured locally in Kenya and KEBS certified, it is the trusted choice of contractors, fundis and developers for repairing, reprofiling and levelling concrete on columns, beams, slab soffits, walls and floors — especially for overhead and vertical applications.

How to Use Sika MonoTop®-620

Surface Preparation

Ensure concrete is clean and free from dust, loose material and contamination. Remove all delaminated, weak or damaged concrete. Clean exposed rebar of rust and scale using abrasive blasting or high-pressure water-blasting to Sa 2 (ISO 8501-1).

Pre-Wet the Substrate

Thoroughly pre-wet the surface about 2 hours before application and keep it wet. Before applying, remove excess water with a clean sponge — the surface should look dark matt with no glistening water in the pores.

Mixing

Pour 4.75–5.0 litres of clean water into a mixing container. While stirring slowly, add the 25 kg powder and mix for a minimum of 3 minutes with a slow-speed drill mixer (<500 rpm) until smooth and lump-free. Never exceed the recommended water dosage.

Application

Apply by hand or wet-spray machine. When hand applying, first scrape a thin scratch coat firmly over the surface to fill pores and pits, then build up in layers of 1.5–5 mm. Finish with a wooden/plastic float or damp sponge.

Curing & Cleaning

Protect fresh mortar immediately from drying out using polythene sheeting or moist geotextile, and cure for at least 3 days. Clean all tools with water immediately after use — hardened material can only be removed mechanically.
