HM-018 Light Gauge PVC Ceiling Panel – White with Gold Floral Design
An elegant, budget-friendly decorative PVC ceiling panel with a glossy white finish and a refined champagne-gold flower-and-scroll motif. Waterproof, termite-proof and quick to install — perfect for homes, rentals, shops and offices across Nairobi and Kajiado County.
Product Overview
The HM-018 Light Gauge PVC Ceiling Panel is a rigid polyvinyl chloride (PVC) ceiling board finished with a printed decorative surface. Each strip carries a delicate cream-gold flower with flowing scroll leaves on a bright white background, separated by crisp decorative grooves that create a neat, linear ceiling once installed.
Being light gauge, the panel has a slimmer wall profile than heavy-gauge PVC ceilings. That makes it lighter to carry and lift overhead, easier to cut with a simple hand saw or utility knife, and one of the most affordable ceiling solutions in Kenya — without giving up the clean, finished look that PVC ceilings are known for.
Unlike gypsum or plywood ceilings, PVC does not absorb water, swell, rot or attract termites, and it never needs painting. A quick wipe keeps it looking new for years, which is why PVC ceilings are a top choice for bedrooms, living rooms, kitchens, bathrooms and verandas in Ongata Rongai, Kitengela, Karen, Kiserian and greater Nairobi.

How Many Panels Do I Need?

How to Install HM-018 PVC Ceiling Panels
- Measure & plan. Measure the room length and width, calculate the area and order panels with 5–10% extra for cutting. Decide the panel direction — running panels along the longest wall usually gives the neatest look and fewest joints.
- Mark the ceiling level. Using a spirit level or water level, mark a straight horizontal line around all walls at the finished ceiling height.
- Fix the brandering. Install timber brandering (e.g. 2"×2" or 2"×1" treated timber) or metal furring channels across the direction of the panels at 400–600 mm centres. Make sure all supports are level and firmly fixed to the roof trusses or slab.
- Install the edge trims. Fix PVC L-angle or starter trims along the marked line on all walls. These hold the panel ends and give a clean border.
- Cut panels to size. Cut each panel about 5 mm shorter than the room width to allow for thermal expansion. Use a fine-tooth hand saw, hacksaw or a sharp utility knife (score and snap).
- Fit the first panel. Slide the first panel into the wall trim with the groove side facing the wall. Fasten through the tongue into every support using small nails, staples or pan-head screws — do not over-tighten.
- Lock the next panels. Push the groove of the next panel firmly onto the tongue of the previous one until it clicks tight, then fasten through its tongue. Keep the floral pattern aligned for a uniform design.
- Plan for lights. Mark and cut openings for bulb holders, downlights or ceiling fans before fixing that panel. Always switch off power and use a qualified electrician for wiring.
- Fit the last panel. Measure, cut the last panel lengthwise to fit, and slide it into the trim. Use a slim adhesive bead or a fixing through the trim if needed.
- Finish with cornice. Add PVC or EPS/XPS cornice around the room for a decorative, professional finish, then wipe the ceiling clean.

- Keep supports at no more than 600 mm apart to prevent sagging on light gauge panels.
- Keep halogen lamps and heat sources at a safe distance; LED fittings are recommended.
- Do not walk on or hang heavy loads from the panels — they are a finishing surface.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does "light gauge" mean on the HM-018 PVC ceiling panel?
Light gauge means the panel has a thinner wall profile than heavy gauge panels. It is lighter, easier to cut and fix, and more economical — ideal for ceilings, where the panel carries no load.
Can HM-018 be used in bathrooms and kitchens?
Yes. PVC is 100% waterproof and does not absorb moisture, so HM-018 is suitable for bathrooms, kitchens, laundry rooms and covered verandas.
How long does a PVC ceiling last?
When correctly installed on level, well-spaced supports and kept away from strong heat sources, a PVC ceiling can serve for many years with only occasional cleaning.
Can I paint PVC ceiling panels?
There is no need — the panels come factory-finished with the floral design. Painting would hide the print and is not recommended.
Is HM-018 the same as a heavy gauge PVC ceiling?
No. Heavy gauge panels are thicker and stiffer, allowing slightly wider support spacing. HM-018 light gauge is the economical option and performs well with supports at 400–600 mm centres.
