iProduct Overview

The HM-036 heavy gauge PVC ceiling panel is a premium tongue-and-groove ceiling board made from rigid PVC. It has a realistic light oak / whitewashed ash wood-grain face with V-grooves along its length, so the finished ceiling looks like narrow timber slats with clean shadow lines.

"Heavy gauge" means thicker outer walls and stronger internal ribs than ordinary PVC ceiling. The panel stays straight between brandering, resists dents during fixing and keeps its shape in warm weather. Homeowners, contractors and fundis in Ongata Rongai, Tuala, Kiserian, Karen, Kitengela, Kajiado and Nairobi choose it for a durable wood-look ceiling at a lower long-term cost than timber or gypsum.

The pale neutral colour reflects light, so small rooms, corridors and bathrooms look brighter and bigger. It matches white walls, grey tiles, SPC flooring and modern interiors.

⚒How to Install HM-036 PVC Ceiling

Tools & Materials
  • HM-036 panels + about 10% extra for cutting
  • Treated 2"×2" timber brandering or metal furring channels
  • PVC cornice / L-angle and H-joints
  • Galvanised nails, staples, screws or ceiling clips
  • Tape measure, level, chalk line, fine-tooth saw, utility knife
  • Hammer or staple gun, drill, ladder or scaffold
1
Measure & planDecide the panel direction. Run panels along the longest wall or toward the main light so the grooves look straight.
2
Mark the levelMark a level line around all walls at the finished ceiling height and snap a chalk line.
3
Fix the branderingFix treated timber or metal brandering across the panel direction at 400 – 600 mm centres. Level every batten.
4
Fit the perimeter trimFix PVC cornice or L-angle on all walls. Mitre the corners at 45°.
5
Cut the first panelMeasure wall to wall inside the trim and cut about 5 mm shorter for expansion. Cut face-up with a fine-tooth saw.
6
Fit the first panelSlide it into the trim with the groove to the wall and tongue facing out. Fix through the tongue at every batten.
7
Continue panel by panelPush each groove firmly onto the previous tongue until it locks, then fix. Check alignment every few panels.
8
Cut openingsCut holes for lights and fans before fixing that panel. Mount heavy fittings on the brandering, not the PVC.
9
Fit the last panelRip it lengthwise to fit, slide into the trim and fix near the wall where the cornice hides it.
10
Finish & cleanPeel any protective film, check joints and trims, and wipe down with a damp cloth.
How many panels do I need? Length (m) × Width (m) ÷ 1.49 + 10% Example: a 4 m × 3.5 m room = 14 m² ÷ 1.49 ≈ 9.4, plus 10% ≈ 11 panels.
Not sure? WhatsApp your room sizes to 0741 042484 and we'll calculate panels, cornice and brandering for you.

✓Installation Do's & Don'ts

Do
  • Store panels flat and in shade
  • Leave a 3 – 5 mm gap at each end
  • Use treated timber in termite areas
  • Support lights and fans on the framing
Don't
  • Leave panels in direct sun before fitting
  • Hang heavy loads from the panels
  • Let hot bulbs touch the PVC
  • Clean with thinners or abrasives

♥Care & Maintenance

  • Dust with a soft broom or dry microfibre cloth.
  • For grease or stains, wipe with warm water and mild soap.
  • Good bathroom ventilation keeps the ceiling cleaner for longer.
  • A damaged panel can be replaced alone, with no need to redo the whole ceiling.

?Frequently Asked Questions

What does "heavy gauge" mean?

The panel has thicker skins and internal ribs than standard PVC ceiling. It feels rigid, doesn't sag between brandering and resists dents.

Can I use it in bathrooms and kitchens?

Yes. PVC doesn't absorb water, so HM-036 won't swell, rot or grow mould like gypsum or chipboard.

Is HM-036 termite proof?

Yes. Termites don't eat PVC. Treat any timber brandering used to fix it.

How many pieces do I need?

Room length × width ÷ 1.49, plus 10% for waste. Or WhatsApp your room sizes to 0741 042484 and we'll calculate it for you.

Can it be used on walls?

Yes. It works as interior wall cladding or a feature wall, fixed onto battens the same way as a ceiling.

Do you install?

We are supply-only, but we can share contacts of independent PVC ceiling fundis around Rongai, Tuala and Kiserian.
