Where to Use It
How to Install a Waterproof Shade Net
- Measure the area. Add about 30 cm on every side for tying and overlap.
- Build a strong frame. Use steel pipes, timber or wire cables. A waterproof net carries rain and wind load, so the frame must be firm.
- Give it a slope (fall). Set one side lower than the other, at least 1 m drop over 5 m, so rainwater runs off and doesn't pool.
- Stretch and tension tightly. Pull the net taut in both directions. A loose net sags, collects water and can tear.
- Fix the edges. Use shade-net clips, cable ties or nylon rope every 30–50 cm. Never pierce the net without a reinforced edge.
- Join rolls with an overlap. Overlap joints by 15–20 cm, with the upper sheet over the lower one in the direction of water flow.
How Many Rolls Do I Need?
Area to cover (length x width) ÷ 75 = number of rolls.
Example: a double carport of 6 m x 6 m = 36 sqm → 1 roll covers it, with net left over. For 10 m x 9 m = 90 sqm → 2 rolls, or 1 roll plus 15 sqm cut per metre.

Is this shade net really 100% waterproof?
Yes. It's designed to shed rain completely, as long as it's installed tight with a slope so water runs off instead of pooling.
What size is one roll?
Each roll is 25 m long and 3 m wide, giving 75 square metres of coverage.
Can I buy less than a full roll?
Yes. We sell the full roll or per square metre, cut to the length you need.
Can I use it on a fence?
We don't recommend it. Because no wind passes through, it puts heavy load on fence posts. Use a 70% or 90% breathable shade net for fences and privacy screens.
Is it good for carports?
Yes. It's one of the most popular uses, giving full shade and rain cover for vehicles at a fraction of the cost of roofing sheets.
